Courage is pretty much all Francis and Alyce Buechel had to rely on when they founded Buechel Stone in 1964. And as a company, we’ve endured a fair share of set-backs and disasters. We share everyone’s deep concern over COVID-19. Throughout our history, we’ve found that Ma and Pa Buechel’s determination and commitment to doing the right thing lives on in times of crises. We’ve been leaders in the natural stone industry – whether full or thin stone veneers or landscape and cut stone – for over 55 years. While the way we are providing best experiences has momentarily changed, it’s a mission we are committed to no matter how we’re tested. It defines us.
Buechel Stone’s commitment to health, safety, and you
We will remain operational as this week’s state-wide ‘safer at home’ Emergency Order #12 goes into effect in Wisconsin. Working with counsel, we found we are exempt from this order under #13 Essential Businesses and Operations: m. Hardware & Supplies and r. Supplies for Essential Business and Operations and Essential Government Functions. Our stone manufacturing and fabrication facilities will remain open to provide the natural stone products and recycled aggregate necessary for our customers to get essential construction work done. In addition to our strict social distancing approach for our rockstars in production, our office and sales specialists are working from home whenever possible. Rockstars working remotely have full access to email, video conferencing, phones, and product resources to support your natural stone product and project requirements.
We are doing everything we can to continue to provide a high level of service, while ensuring the health and safety of all involved. Our goal of remaining operational comes with several precautionary actions, in the best interest of our rockstar colleagues, customers, and partners.
1. Education: In addition to following strict social distance requirements of 6 feet or more (as issued by public health officials), we are educating all rockstars and providing frequent reminders of washing hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds as often as possible (or using hand sanitizer), avoiding touching your face, regularly cleaning high-touch surfaces to maintain clean, sanitary work stations; avoiding shaking hands and others.
2. Public Spaces / Guests & Visitors: In addition to our strict social distancing approach with our teams, we insist our customers (where on-site work is required) and essential visitors to our locations (showrooms and trucking/shipping related) do the same. We have the digital technologies and are working together to limit, postpone or use virtual meetings to assist with business continuity and stone product selections in the virtual world as much as possible.
